People managers are always in great demand in many corporate? The generally perceived or may be understood meaning about people managers or people management is nothing but how the managers ensure people to do their job and the people do not fool around in the corporate. The people managers know only one thing that is to move around and see that all the employees are 'visibly' busy and engaged in something. Can any one build a corporate with such culture? Interestingly, most entrepreneurs get thrilled with such 'great people managers'.

How the people should be managed ideally in a corporate? Is it ensuring every one is doing their job and not wasting their time is the best way to manage a corporate or involving every one in the building process of the organization and their career as well. Many single men owned/guided corporate see or want only the result. The moment result is shown, everything else become least important to them.

If people managers are very good in ensuring the people doing the job and are adequately made busy, who define their job or in what job they are busy at. How the job is defined, designed and assigned? How tasks are managed in such corporate. Who is the task manager?

The most complex and complicated understanding of most entrepreneurs is that people managers are nothing but task managers as they are executing the task through people. Making the employee to complete the job given to him/her on time is different from task management. Task managers need to know what task should be given great priority at different time, how the task should be defined, who should be involved in accomplishing the task, how the team is identified, motivated and assured the completion of the task as per the time line, how the merit and value of the task is ascertained and aligned initially etc.,

Many organizations fail to differentiate these subtle points. A shepherd cannot be given the responsibility of running a sheep farm. Running a sheep farm is a different ball game altogether when compared to taking the sheep for just grazing and brining them back to the shed. With time, many corporate mix up task management to people management. Even in people management, one need to know what intrinsic and extrinsic energy factors influence the people from time to time. Assigning a right job to a right person is what good management of people and task in an organization.

Most people managers assign simple task to their favourites and complicated tasks to those who are not their favourite. It is not the capability and attitude matters, 'I like' or 'I don't like' factors dominate in the process of task vs. people management in many corporate. Entrepreneurs need to be very sensitive of these factors if they wish to build the organizations to success.
