NDC NEW APPOINTMENTS: KWESI PRATT JR. AND PETER KOJO APISAWU

09.02.2011 LISTEN
By Charles Minta

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), with immediate effect, appoints Ghana's longest serving radio panelist, Mr. Kwesi Pratt, Jr., as the official publicist/spokesperson for the Atta-Mills administration. This is based on a consensus reached by the functional executive of the NDC in recognition of his unflinching support for the party both in opposition and in government.

It would be recalled that even in the days of the PNDC and the NDC I, Mr. Pratt worked hard to ensure that the truth is always told to the Ghanaian public, even when he had to go underground as a victim of the Rawlings regime to serve as a covert source for the regime. The NDC is a party built on principles. We, therefore, recognize those who suffer with us, so shall we also not forget them when the times are good. This decision was reached at a meeting held at the residence of Mr. John Mahama, Ghana's vice president on February 1, 2011

The party also recognizes the hard work of Mr. Pratt's able editor, Mr. Peter Kojo Apisawu, who has been very instrumental in building a firewall around the presidency to repel some of the unwarranted attacks on the presidency from the opposition NPP. In this regard, Mr. Peter Kojo Apisawu has been awarded a GETFund Scholarship for three academic years, to pursue B.A. Accountancy at the prestigious Birmingham City University in England. His anticipated expertise, on his return, would help integrate accountancy with journalism, a skill most lacking on the journalism landscape in Ghana.

Both appointments are with immediate effect.
Signed by,
Charles Minta (NDC Shadow Deputy for Communication)
