Persons within the Frafra and Yoruba communities in the Kumasi metropolis have been cautioned against holding themselves as chief for the respective communities.

The directive was issued at a meeting of the Ashanti Regional Security Council in Kumasi.

A press release made available to Luv News says the decision is to ensure an incident-free celebration of this year's Eid-ul-Fitr.

The statement signed by the Regional Coordinating Director, S.O. Kusi-Appiah, says the security agencies would 'deal ruthlessly with ant trouble maker during the congregational prayers and other festivities particularly on Friday, 10th September 2010”.

Details about the conflict with the communities are sketchy but the press release said nobody should hold himself as chief in the community “until such a time that Nana Sumankwaahene and his elders conclude arrangements with regards to the enskinment of the right person(s) to occupy the position of a chief for the respective communities.”
