Half Assini (W/R), July 28, GNA — The Jomoro District Chief Executive, Mr Victor Kabenlah, has appealed to service personnel to accept postings to the rural areas.
He expressed regret that while US Peace Corps volunteers and doctors accepted postings to the rural areas some Ghanaians refused postings to those areas.
Mr Kabenlah said this at the launch of the Jomoro District National Service Personnel Association week celebration at Half Assini.
The theme for the celebration is "National Service in the drive towards better Ghana ."
He said it was the duty of all Ghanaians to help development every part of the country and not the responsible few.
The Jomoro District Director of Education, Mr Bartholomew Ofori, expressed concern that the ceremony that was supposed to have started at 1100 hours rather begun at 1200 hours.
He said the one hour that was wasted by some of the invited guests and other personalities could have been used for something productive.
Mr Ofori said he was not happy about the lack of time management by Ghanaians and urged the service personnel to manage time well.
The President of the Association, Mr Kenneth Anoff, told the service personnel to be prepared for the task ahead of them as future leaders of the country.
