
Unibank's Employees Privileges Loan is a loan scheme designed for salary earners who do not have an account with uniBank. This product is from the uniBank Ghana Ltd and no guarantee is required for this facility. All that is required is an undertaking from ones' (employees') employers to deduct repayments at source on monthly basis and paid to uniBank.
Employee Privileges Loan is a unique opportunity for employees to enjoy the good things of life without hassle. It enables beneficiaries to cater for their myriad of needs.
The employees who can apply for the Employees Privileges Loan must be earning a minimum monthly salary of GH 50.00. The Interest to be charge on the loan is at uniBank's base rate plus a margin determined by the Unibank. The minimum loan an employee can apply for is GH 500.00 and the maximum loan one can apply for is GH 15,000.00. A fixed monthly repayment over the life of the loan is a condition for the loan repayment. Applicants will have up to 48 months to repay the loan and monthly repayment amount shall not exceed 45% of applicant's net monthly salary. The loan amount must be paid in full before age 60 and top up is allowed for applicants who have paid of not less than 1/3 of their initial loan principal. The loan beneficiary shall take a credit life insurance to cover the loan amount (The bank shall arrange for this and charge the cost of the borrower).
Documents required before getting an Employee Privileges loan are: a duly completed application form, applicant's identity documents e.g. Drivers license, Passport or Voters I.D., one passport picture of applicant, proof of address/residence of applicant and proof of employment and a current pay slip.
The employer of the applicant must have signed an Employee Privileges Loan Scheme (EPL Scheme) agreement with uniBank (GH) Ltd. The employer shall also undertake to deduct the monthly loan repayment amount at source and pay directly to the uniBank (on monthly basis) for the duration of the loan.
The employer shall undertake to notify uniBank within seven (7) days of the borrower's resignation, dismissal termination of appointment, retrenchment, death, etc. and also to remit the full amount of any accrued terminal benefits in the event that either party prematurely terminates employment.
