Akoase (E/R), April 22, GNA - A citizen of Akoase based in New York, Nana Omane Ababio, has presented over 2,000 books to the Akoase Community Library and the St. Michael Senior High School.

The books consist of novels and books on mathematics, science, geography, history, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for basic, secondary and tertiary students and teachers.

Presenting the books Nana Ababio said they were from him and his family and were collected from friends and some educational institutions.

Nana Ababio promised to continue to present more books to the library.

Mrs Patient Asare, a Liberian of the Ghana Library Board at Nkawkaw, urged school children to make effective use of their time and holidays to read more books.

Receiving the books, the Birim North District Chief Executive, Mr Napoleon Amoako Asiamah, appealed to citizens of the area to contribute towards improving the standard of education rather than investing in entertainment.

Mr Asiamah commended Nana Ababio and his family for giving back to society what the basic school in the town gave to them.
