Koforidua, March 6, GNA - The Eastern Regional Police Command is appealing to the general public to help trace the parents of an eight-year old boy, Richard Azika who was found roaming on the Suhyen-Koforidua Highway two weeks ago.
The boy who was found wearing a white T- shirt with red shorts can only speak Kanjaga and Twi and gave his parents names as Angelina and Brother Sammy.
According to the Public Affairs Officer of the Regional Command, Chief Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah the boy told the police that his younger brother stole
GH¢ 2.00 from their mother and left home for Koforidua.
He said when the mother detected the theft she ordered him to go to Koforidua on foot and look for the younger brother who stole the money when he was spotted by some good Samaritans who brought him to the Tafo Police station.
Chief Inspector Nketiah-Yeboah said the police had combed Tafo and its surrounding areas without any trace of the parents and was therefore appealing to the public for support.
Meanwhile the boy is currently in the custody of the Tafo police.
