Ghana Muslim Mission acquires land for University

Accra, Feb. 8, GNA - The Ghana Muslim Mission (GMM) is to establish a first class university at Esereso, near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The university, when completed, would offer programmes in Administration, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Banking and Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management and Theology.

Sheikh Dr. Amen Bonsu, Deputy Imam of the GMM, disclosed these in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday.

He said the mission had acquired a 50-acre plot of land at Esereso in the Bosomtwe District for the project which include the construction of Lecture Halls, Hostels, Staff Accommodation, Auditorium, Sports facilities, shopping mall and a mosque.

Sheikh Bonsu who is also the Acting Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Mission said GMM was determined to project a more positive image of Islam and also support human resource development.

He appealed to corporate bodies, institutions and individuals to support the mission to enable it execute the project.

He urged Muslims to lead exemplary lives worthy of emulations and fight the stigma attached to Muslims.
