Accra , Feb. 3, GNA - Guinean duo, Sylla Foda and Capi Soumah were the heroes for Liberty Professionals as they recorded a 4-1 victory over Sekondi Hasaacas in their Week 16 Glo Premier League encounter on Wednesday at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman.
Sylla grabbed a hat-trick whilst Soumah scored the other goal to mark a positive start for the "Scientific Soccer Lads" at the resumption of the second half of the premiership.
The duo, who joined Liberty during the second transfer window, capped their debut with an output that suddenly won them the heart of the home fans.
The hosts started off brightly making their intent clear and it was only a matter of time before the opener would come.
Sylla broke the deadlock on 27 minutes with a curling shot that beat Hasaacas goalie Wilson Yeboah and went ahead to double his side's lead nine minutes to the end of the first half from a goalmouth action.
Hasaacas striker Charles Nartey pulled a goal back for the visitors on 40 minutes to give his side some glimmer of hope.
Liberty however maintained their dominance in possession upon resumption of the second half and Soumah capped his impressive debut with the third goal by heading home from David Kabu's cross from the right flank on 56 minutes.
In the 76th minute, Liberty were awarded a penalty after midfielder Isaac Donkor, a former Hasaacas player was shoved off the ball by Hasaacas Richard Ocran in the full glare of all.
Sylla converted the resultant spot-kick to complete his hat-trick and the fourth for his side.
Trailing by three goals, the visitors fought on, resulting in few chances at goal, but Nartey failed to make the most of them.
Sylla, who was arguably the brightest spot of the game was presented with a ball for his historic feat.
