Accra Polytechnic sure to win basketball trophy

Ho, Feb. 2, GNA - The Accra Polytechnic is sure to recapture the basketball trophy at the ongoing Polytechnics Games currently in progress at Ho, the Volta Regional capital.
Mr Lawal P. Brimah, head coach of the Accra Polytechnic team attributed his confidence to the rich experience of his team and the level of training it has had undertaken.
He told GNA Sports at the 66 Artillery Regiment, one of the venues for the Games, "After we played poorly in our first match, even though we won, we went back to the drawing board to correct the lapses,'' he asserted.
Accra Polytechnic defeated Sunyani Polytechnic by 17 points to 15 in their opening match and went ahead to beat the host, Ho Poly 36-20 points.
Takoradi Polytechnic also beat Kumasi Polytechnic 64-34 while Cape Coast Poly also succumbed to Wa Polytechnic 36-34 in their opening matches.
In the women's division, Cape Coast Polytechnic defeated their Koforidua counterparts 39-10 points, whilst Tamale Polytechnic fell 18-23 to Accra Polytechnic.
