Huhuonline.com understands that Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab is a 23 year old engineering graduate of University College in London and son of the former chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Dr. Umaru Abdul Mutallab. Our checks reveal that upon his graduation, he returned to Nigeria and informed his father that he intended to undertake a master's degree programme in Cairo, Egypt. Aware of his son`s extreme religious views, the family rebuffed his request to study in Egypt, the home town of Ayman al-Zawahiri and chose Dubai instead.

However, weeks after arriving in Dubai, Umaru Farouk sent words home to his family that he was relocating to Yemen, an Al Qaeda stronghold. Where he allegedly received some training on explosives and IED`s.

Contrary to reports that Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab obtained his visa from a US consulate in Nigeria, Huhuonline.com can say that he obtained a multiple tourist visa to the United States in June of 2008, in London. Nevertheless, his father recently notified the United State Authorities that his son had become a Muslim religious extremist, who is highly radicalized and may be planning a terrorist attack. Consequently, he was placed on some sort of watch list, but in the words of a state department source, the information his father provided was not specific enough to warrant a revocation of his visa or put him on a no flight list.
