University of Ghana beat University of Cape Coast

Cape Coast, Dec. 18, GNA - University of Ghana (UG) made light work of University of Cape Coast (UCC) in the handball competition of the on-going second international handball/volleyball Championships of the West Africa University Games (WAUG) being held at the UCC when they whipped the host 25-17.
University of Ghana, combining skills with stamina took a comfortable lead right from the beginning to end the first half 13-11 in their favour.
Christian Yaw, Gideon Ampoma, Richard Hoyah all of UG who played a yeoman's game respectively scored eight, six and four goals each, while James Boateng, Felix Tei and Loverson Asante also played a good game to score eight, four and four goals respectively for UCC.
University of Ghana also beat LAUTECH of Nigeria 3-1 in the volley ball competition.
Isaac Barnes and Abdul Rashid of UG who played a yeoman's game were instrumental in UG's victory.
Their powerful smashing and inter-positional changes created problems for the Nigerian team who could not find an antidote to the striking power.
