Daily Post’s anti-Betty Mould publications

Daily Post’s anti-Betty Mould publications

The Daily Post has sought to import wild implications into a supposed letter written by the Director of the Serious Fraud Office of the United Kingdom on the guilt or otherwise of Dr Yankey and in so doing has maligned and accused our hard working Attorney General of complicity in the resignation of Dr. Yankey.

For a newspaper that claims or at least conveys a lingering perception by its front page headlines that it is sympathetic to the NDC, it is most appalling and inexcusable for it to seek to set two leading members of the Party against each other.

One wonders whose interest the Daily Post is serving but whatever the cause it is fighting it seems most obvious that it has grossly misunderstood its calling and the role of the NDC in national development.

It is not necessary to respond to allegations of Betty's unwillingness to prosecute since every Tom, Dick and Harry is aware of her diligence in this area of her work. Moreover these acts are not the sole determinants of her competence or of her loyalty to the National Democratic Congress. Unlike the Daily Post the Attorney General has a clear understanding of her role and constitutional duty to Ghanaians.

The President did not dismiss Dr. Yankey neither has he stated anywhere that Dr. Yankey resigned because of advice given to him by the Attorney General.

The above begs the following question. Is the Daily Post telling Ghanaians that it has been told by Dr. Yankey that he was forced to resign and that it was Betty Mould Iddrisu's advice that put pressure on him to resign? It will be appreciated if the Daily Post provides answers to these pertinent questions.

Then the truth will then be known to all Ghanaians and the Daily Post would have fulfilled its constitutional and moral duty to all its readers.
