Kade, Nov. 6, GNA - A magistrate's court at Kade, on Friday remanded Kwaku Odame
Amoah, a farmer, for attempting to murder his brother.
His plea was not taken and he would reappear at court on November 10.
Police Inspector Francis Cobbina told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Iliasu
that Amoah and Samuel Gyau his brother who were at loggerhead for almost four years lived
at Otumi Mpraeso, in the Kwaebibirem District.
Prosecution said Amoah on September 28 attempted to murder his brother because he
accused him (Amoah) of stealing his (Gyau) palm fruits.
Inspector Cobbina told the court that after the death of their mother, Amoah claimed that
he had succeeded her and threatened to kill any family member who would go to her farm.
Prosecution said Gyau had a cocoa farm near to the mother's farm and left Otumi to
settle on the mother's farm.
Insp. Cobbina said on September 29 at about 1000 hours, while Gyau was clearing his
cocoa farm, Amoah with a locally manufactured single barrel gun, shot at upper limb of his
brother.
Gyau rushed to the Police station and obtained a medical form and attended the Saint
Dominic Hospital at Akwatia and he was treated.
Amoah in his caution statement admitted that he attempted to kill his brother.
