The chairman of the NPP-Holland, Mr. Kobby Annan has on behalf of the party branch, despatched a congratulatory message to the newly elected executive committee of UK & Ireland branch of the New Patriotic Party.
The NPP UK & Ireland branch, at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) last weekend, held its Executive Election in London. Mr. Hayford Atta-Krufi retained the Chairman position to lead the newly elected executives, with a four year mandate.
In his congratulatory message, Mr. Kobby Annan stated that the NPP-Holland branch, envisages that the NPP-UK & Ireland branch, especially members of this newly elected executive committee, will continue to link with sister branches in the Diaspora to embark on programmes and activities that will project a unifying front towards strengthening the party in Ghana, particularly the constituency offices.
Mr. Annan reminded the elected officers that by their election to the office of executive committee, they have accepted the challenge to work in unity, to assist in bringing the NPP back to government, for the benefit of Ghana. He said having made such commitment to this challenge in the United Kingdom, far away from home, merits great blessing from the spirit of the founding fathers of our party.
Touching on the post-election reactions, Chairman Kobby Annan also stressed that the NPP-Holland is very content with the success of the election in the UK and the fact that all other contestants together with the entire membership of the NPP UK are on board at post-election and working towards the achievement of the party's collective objectives.
He therefore admonished the branch not to use their executive positions or numbers to override the concerns of any individual or group who may harbour reservations on the election and officers in the party. 'I humbly urge you to demonstrate exceptional unifying skills, good judgment and tolerance in accordance with our party principles to address these concerns, should such concerns or reservation arise, in order to retain them in the fold of this great party. For in unity lies our strength to work hard to recapture power, come 2012.' Mr Annan Concluded.
