Virgin Nigeria, which recently rebranded as Nigeria Eagle Airline, at the weekend took delivery of a second aircraft in its new livery.

The aircraft, which arrived on Sunday, is part of the company's new identity and brand logo.

It comes on the heels of Nigerian's 49th Independence celebration.

The Chief Commercial Officer of Nigerian Eagle Airline, Jimmy Kibati, noted that the newly introduced livery of his outfit had received tremendous commendation both at home and abroad, adding, “Discerning travelers have accepted our trademark.

“The new name and logo fully reflects the rich cultural heritage of Africans and we are glad to have a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) with Ethiopian Airlines, which will help us retain our established culture of excellence.”

In commemoration of the 49th Independence anniversary of Nigeria, the Airline has launched a special fare on all of its domestic routes.

The special Independence promotion, which is tagged 'Nigeria at 49', would allow passengers to buy a one-way ticket on any of the domestic routes for a flat amount of N12, 000.

The anniversary promo is valid from September 28, 2009 to October 4, 2009 with all travels valid for the period.

The special fare of N12, 000 is inclusive of all taxes and is subject to availability of seats and applicable to the terms and conditions of the airline.

Mr. Kibati, who announced the launch of the promotion in Lagos, said: “Nigerian Eagle Airline is committed to the offering of outstanding fares to travelers.

“This new fare would afford our passengers to fly and experience our unique services.

Our promotion is coming at a time when Nigerians are rebranding in line with the Federal Government' initiative of displaying our rich cultural heritage.”

It would be recalled that Nigerian Eagle Airline recently adopted a truly Nigerian identity in line with its business model of building a credible airline in the sub-region.
