Limb Fitting Center inaugurated at Shama

By GBC

A GHC50,000 Limb Fitting Center has been inaugurated at Supomu- Dunkwa in the Shama District of the Western Region. It was provided by Rotary Foundation, Rotary UK and the Sekondi-Takoradi Rotary Club with support from the Ghana Health Service.

The center, the third in the country will serve patients in the Western and Central Regions and help ease congestion at the Accra and Nsawam Limb Fitting Centers. It will also improve the health status of people with limb disabilities and deformities in Ghana by providing them with affordable services.

The Director in charge of Human Resource of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Sylvester Anemana commended the Rotary Club for its assistance in building the centre.

The President of the Sekondi-Takoradi Rotary Club, Ignace Kudu urged the Ghana Health Service to maintain and operate the centre to benefit the unfortunate ones who will have amputated legs and hands
