GJA to upgrade skills of journalists

Accra, July 27 GNA - Unilever Ghana and the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) would hold workshops for journalists in August on Business and Economic reporting.

Other subject areas to be covered include Intellectual Property, Health with emphasis on HIV/AIDS and Malaria, and Environmental and Sanitation reporting.

A statement signed by Mr Bright Blewu, General Secretary of the GJA said the seminar on Business and Economic reporting would be held on August 3, Health, August 4, Intellectual Property, August 5 and 6, and Environmental and Sanitation on August 7.

The statement said Unilever was sponsoring all but the workshop on Intellectual Property, which would be sponsored by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy.

The workshops would take place at Fiesta Royale Hotel.

The statement said interested journalists should pick application forms at the Ghana International Press Centre.

It said participants would be selected on merit and proven interest in the subject they chose.

The deadline for the submission of application is July 29.
