ABSTRACT
“Mob Justice in Ghana " has been the topic under discussion.

A primary data was collected from the La community in Accra. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. Frequencies, Percentages, Bar graph and Non parametric test (Chi Square Test) were used to analyze the data collected. From the research, it was found out that Students, workers and the youth form the major part of the population in Ghana.

Also, most of the respondents have witnessed a mob beating up of a suspected thief before. Only 36.7% of the respondents expressed satisfaction when they witnessed a mob beating up of a suspected thief. Furthermore, it was obvious that majority (66.7%) of the suspected thieves were not the real thieves. They were beaten up in cold blood. Only 33.3% of them were the real thieves. Majority (83.3%) of the respondents disagreed with the fact that mob justice is the best solution or way to reduce crime in Ghana

Some of the effects of mob justice identified were the following:

• Majority of the suspected thieves do die in cold blood,

• Injustice on the part of the suspected thieves,
• The real thieves do run away in the course of beating up of the wrong person,

• It promotes riots or conflicts.
More so, the following are the factors promoting mob justice in Ghana:

• Bribery and corruption,
• Injustice on the part of the judiciary
