The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Yaw Frimpong-Manso, has appealed to Ghanaians not to allow their political affiliation to divide them.
He urged political leaders to mobilize the country's human and material resources to provide infrastructure and other social amenities to enhance the living standard of the people.
Rt. Rev. Frimpong-Manso was addressing the congregation of the Kwahu Tafo Presbyterian Church at the dedication of the rehabilitated chapel on Easter Sunday.
The chapel was rehabilitated by the 13 children of the late Mr Emmanuel Kwame Ofori, a citizen of the town, and their mother, Christiana Asantewaa, at the cost of 450,000 Ghana cedis.
He appealed to Ghanaians to use the resurrection of Christ to transform the nation and avoid negative tendencies such as corruption, armed robbery and laziness but should work hard to increase productivity in the country.
He said the developed countries achieved development through hard work and advised Ghanaians to work hard to increase Gross Domestic Product to enable the government to increase the salary of workers.
Mrs Ernestina Afoasa Anim, the elder daughter of the late Mr Ofori, said they decided to rehabilitate the chapel to honour their late father and also give back to the society what society had given to them through their education at the Presbyterian Church Basic School.
The Kwahu Mawerehene, Nana Yeboah Asuama I who represented the Kwahuhene, commended the children of the late Mr Ofori and appealed to all Kwahu Tafo citizens at home and abroad to come home and contribute towards the development of the town.
