Peace is an attitude that deals with differences of interest in ways that ensure violently antagonistic positions do not arise in the first place.
As Ghana goes to the polls on December 7th, we urge all the citizenry to do what they can to ensure a violence free election.
In recognizing those who have worked for peace in a bottom-up fashion by using their sense of justice, humanity and willingness to help, even in the face of resistance, following the tenets of non-violence, civic duty and courage, reasoning and kind- heartedness, the National Peace Honours Awards have been instituted and this years edition is dedicated solely to the forthcoming elections.

Any nation that does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for. In view of this, several individuals and organizations will be honoured for their contribution towards promoting peace before, during and after the elections. Individuals who will receive the peace honours award will include journalists, musicians, women in politics, election observers and religious leaders. Organizations for democratic advancement and youth groups in peace advocacy will also receive the peace honours awards.
The Council High Command has introduced this award as an intervention for promoting accelerated and sustained national development in the new Ghana. This is the objective of the Country Awards Council – Ghana, CACG to use excellence awards as tool for championing national excellence.
The CACG High Command extends its best wishes to all Presidential and Parliamentary Candidates. To the electorates, Ghana must be their top most priority before, during and after the elections.
May God Bless our homeland Ghana and may God bless us all.
