Participants at an education forum held at Begoro, on Wednesday appealed to Fanteakwa District Assembly to extend electricity to all communities in the area.
They said this would assist in the acceleration of development and promotion of education, particularly the teaching of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in schools in the district.

Mr Kwadwo Osei Owusu, Fanteakwa District Director of Education, complained of poor standards of education in the district.

He asked teachers to encourage students to read novels and patronise the library to enable them to improve upon their academic work.

Mr Owusu urged school authorities, School Management Committees and Parent-Teacher Associations to collaborate efforts towards the development of their schools.

Mr Kwasi Adjabeng Ntori, presiding member of the assembly, cautioned parents that the Capitation Grant was not a license for them to shirk their educational responsibility towards the children.

The forum was organized by Education Quality for All (EQUAL), an affiliate of USAID to ascertain the impact of its activities on education delivery in the Fanteakwa District.
