Mr James .H. Aquandah, Head of Administration, Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC), on Wednesday said preparation towards the 8th Quadrennial Delegates Congress slated August 10 to 14, this month, was on course.
The congress would be on the theme: "Social Protection for all, a pre-requisite for Consolidating Democratic Governance - the role of trades unions".
Mr Aquandah speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview said nomination forms for interested contestants to positions in the TUC, have already been forwarded to the 17 affiliated national unions.
He said, to ensure transparency, each nominee must ensured his nomination forms were endorsed by his National Chairman, General Secretary and a representative of the National Executive Council (NEC).
Again he said, national unions have to envelope the nomination form, sealed it and send to the Chief Labour Officer, who in conjunction with the Electoral Commissioner or his representative would over see the elections.
Positions being contested are the post of Secretary-General and his Deputy, Chairperson and two vice Chairpersons.
The congress would also elect a nine-member Finance Board for the TUC.
