El Sewedy Electric Ghana Limited, manufacturers of fibreglass street lighting and electric poles, has donated lighting materials and accessories worth GH¢10,000 to St. Martin’s Secondary School at Nsawam to light up the school compound.
The materials and accessories are made up of 30 units of luminaries and their components together with cables and accessories, a statement signed by Mr Emmanuel Carl Bartels, the Administrative and Public Relations Director, said on Wednesday.
Presenting the items the Managing Director, Mr Ahmed Azouz, said the installation of the lighting system for the school compound was done in fulfilment of a promise made to the school by the Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG), Mr Jude Adu-Amankwah.
It is also part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to give back to communities in which it operated, he said.
The company recently donated cement for the construction of a mosque in Tamale.
The Headmaster of the school, the Reverend Father John Akwesi Acheampong who received the items, described the donation as a timely intervention and thanked the company for the kind gesture.
