Some 330 pupils of Tepa Methodist Primary School in the Ahafo-Ano North District were each given a tablet of Albendazole, a dewormer, free of charge on Tuesday by African Assistance Plan (AAP) a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Sunyani.
Ms. Rose Meda Donkor, the Project Director of AAP, said the exercise was part of the organization’s activities of providing social services to rural communities.
She said since 2000 when the NGO started operations a number of communities especially in the Brong-Ahafo Region have benefited from their medical outreach programme.
Ms. Meda Donkor said the exercise would be extended to other schools in the district.
She mentioned microfinance, provision of school infrastructure, caring for needy children and provision of potable drinking water as some of the services the NGO provided to needy communities.
