Mrs Belinda Serwaa Addo, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, has advised personnel at the Ghana Education Service (GES) directorates to develop excellent professional and managerial skills to enable them to relate well with the public and teachers.
She noted that their healthy relationship with the public was crucial for the successful implementation of government policies and programmes.
Mrs Addo was speaking at an annual New Year get-together organised for the officers and staff of the Regional Education Directorate in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The get-together was not only aimed at reviewing the directorate's activities for the year, but it was also to forge unity and understanding among the staff.
Mrs Addo charged them to work hard to achieve the directorate's objectives and expressed satisfaction with the attitude of the officers and other personnel towards work.
She commended teachers in the region for performing creditably last year resulting in higher academic output, as well as competitive sports and culture and hoped the successes would be sustained.
Mr Festus Boadi-Suadwa, deputy Regional Director of Education, advised them to unite and interact frequently to discuss meaningful educational policies that would promote efficiency in education delivery.
