A Library has been inaugurated at Have in the Hohoe Municipality. The project worth GH¢5,000 was sponsored by Village Volunteers, a Non Governmental Organisation whilst the community provided labour and other resources valued at GH¢1,000. In an address the Country Coordinator of the Village Volunteers, Gilbert Nyavi Gunadiish said the organisation has also donated 40 desks and other educational materials to the Have R.C. Basic Schools.
He noted that the organization is also constructing a 4–unit classroom block at the cost of GH¢10,000 for the Have R.C pre school. The Member of Parliament for Hohoe South, Joseph Amenorwode commended Village Volunteers for their gesture. He expressed concern about the fallen standard of education in the area.
He blamed the situation on lack of quality educational materials and irresponsibility on the part of parents.
Mr Amenorwode donated 500 library books, 10 plastic chairs and 100 bags of cement to the community.
