The Nigerian Higher Commissioner to Ghana has stated that his outfit will not shelter any Nigerian citizen who falls foul of the laws of Ghana.

Speaking at a ceremony to launch a number of activities to mark the country's 47th independence anniversary celebrations in Ghana, he said, the Commission will not hesitate to hand over recalcitrant Nigerians who engage in criminal activities to the security agencies any time.

"I have zero tolerance for Nigerians who come here to engage in crimes; rather I have respect for Nigerians who do every thing according to the laws of where ever they find themselves", he stressed.

This was contained in a statement read on behalf of the High Commissioner by a Minister at the Commission, Simon Ejike Eze.

Shebure Bubemi Henry, Chairman of the Ghana Chapter of the ruling Democratic Freedom Party who are organising the anniversary celebrations, in his submission indicated that, besides the dinner and other fun activities, funds will also be raised for some identified orphanages in the country and appealed to Nigerian corporate entities in Ghana to support their cause.

Some of the activities lined up for the celebrations, which begin on 1st September, include fashion shows that will showcase Nigerian designs and culture and a comedy show that will feature leading Nigerian.
