Founder of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has urged Ghanaians to demand from the various presidential aspirants to tell them how they believe they can fight corruption.

The issue of corruption has been a problem for Ghana under past and present administrations.

Despite efforts to fight the canker including the setting up of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, corruption persists as the state loses millions every year according to the Auditor General.

In a post on Facebook, Franklin Cudjoe said until John Dramani Mahama, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Alan Kyerematen propose credible and practical solutions to fight corruption, no one should listen to them on the subject matter.

“In a recent year, 85% of all government transactions did not even go through the GIFMIS. Ask JM, Bawumia, Alan, and others how they believe they can fight corruption while this continue. Until you hear credible and practical solutions, don't waste your time listening further,” Franklin Cudjoe said.

Already, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed his intention to fight corruption if given the power to lead as president.

He is confident that with the help of digital tools, corruption will be defeated.

John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated that when given the nod as president in the 2024 general election, he will destroy President Akufo-Addo’s ‘legacy’ of corruption.

He has also served a warning that anyone who has stolen from the country will be held to account.
