Nana Akomea, the Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Company (STC), has raised concerns over the recurring power outages affecting the country, urging the government to address the situation promptly to avoid electoral repercussions.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Nana Akomea emphasized the severity of the power cuts, commonly referred to as 'dumsor', despite government's refusal to admit the worsening situation.

He stressed the need for urgent action to resolve the issue and prevent it from escalating further.

While acknowledging the government's efforts to maintain a stable electricity supply in previous years, Nana Akomea cautioned that the persistence of power cuts could tarnish the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) record, especially in an election year.

"If we don't resolve the problem early, all the seven years that our lights stayed on will go to waste.

“This year is also an election year, and if we don't address it promptly, it will reflect poorly on the government.

“We have to let Ghanaians know why this dumsor is happening, whether it is a financial challenge or something else, and the government must find ways to address it,”Nana Akomea cautions.
