The Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Owusu Bempah, has disclosed a tragic development stemming from the recent incidents involving fake reports of missing penises in Kasoa.

The police revealed that one of the victims had succumbed to injuries sustained during the attacks.

Owusu Bempah further revealed that the victim's death was confirmed, and another victim, identified as a pastor, is currently hospitalized and fighting for his life.

He described the situation as “regrettable” and emphasized the negative impact it has had on the reputation of Kasoa.

DCOP Owusu Bempah explained that “criminals had devised a new strategy to rob unsuspecting individuals by spreading false rumors of missing penises.

“The perpetrators would then target the victims under the guise of investigating the alleged disappearances, only to violently assault and rob them.

"We have managed to deal with the issue of land guards in Kasoa. It has been drastically reduced, and we are trying to reduce it further. All of a sudden, this fake news of missing manhood has surfaced," DCOP Owusu Bempah stated.

He further revealed that the police had arrested and processed 30 suspects in connection with the incidents, with five of them already sentenced to jail terms ranging from three months to one year by the Awutu Bereku District Court.

Addressing the media during the inauguration of the Police Ladies Association (POLAS) at Kasoa, DCOP Owusu Bempah urged the public to refrain from spreading or believing in such false news, emphasizing the need to preserve the reputation of Kasoa.

"I want to appeal to the media to support us by telling a positive story about Kasoa. I am challenging those who claim to have experienced this to come over for us to investigate and determine the truth. I want to stress that the news is false," he asserted.
