Reverend Owusu-Bempah has openly criticized President Akufo-Addo, expressing disappointment in what he perceives as undue influence from individuals around him.

During a sermon, Reverend Owusu-Bempah lamented that the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and NPP stalwart Gabby Otchere-Darko have succeded in influencing the President's decisions in national affairs.

Addressing the president directly, Reverend Owusu-Bempah voiced concerns about President Akufo-Addo's perceived deviation from the good governance he initially championed.

He said, “Very soon your tenure will be over so I will be candid with you, you’ve veered off the path you started on. From where I sit, I no longer see the love you used to have for the country. I want you to know that you’ve changed. After your first four years, Ghanaians hailed you so what has changed now?"

He continued, “It is alleged that Ken Ofori-Atta and Gabby Otchere-Darko are the ones controlling the country now but Ghanaians did not vote for Ken Ofori-Atta and Gabby Otchere-Darko. You’ve let us down and allowed people to question the prophecies we gave prior to your arrival. You’ve changed. You no longer have love for the country. But it is not too late, you can still turn things around and ensure that you bow out on the high.”

He mentioned the hardening of heart and a departure from God's guidance of Akufo-Addo, drawing parallels to the biblical King Saul.

Reverend Owusu-Bempah emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging President Akufo-Addo to rectify the perceived missteps before the end of his term.

“The heart he had before becoming president has changed. He is now like Saul. God saw the kindheartedness of Saul and made him a ruler of Israel but at some point, Saul deviated and was not obeying the prophets and God’s words. God then pulled away from him which led to Israel suffering some challenges,”

The preacher's public admonishment of the president comes amid strained relations between him and the President’s family.

Reverend Owusu-Bempah recently expressed his unwillingness to forgive President Akufo-Addo, giving no reasons for such ations.

He also disclosed his decision to distance himself from the President's family, particularly the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
