Former President, John Dramani Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo’s government of making Ghana poorer since coming to power.

According to him, the country is poorer mainly because the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) deliberately chooses acts of political convenience over democratic consolidation.

“The Nana Akufo Addo and Bawumia-led administration has crossed many red lines in our democratic practice. Their deliberate acts of putting political convenience ahead of democratic consolidation have left Ghana's 4th Republic the poorer for it,” John Dramani Mahama said in a post on Twitter.

In his campaign in the last few months, John Dramani Mahama has argued that the misgovernance of the ruling New Patriotic Party has adversely affected the country and impacted the economy which has brought about hardships to many Ghanaians.

He insists that Ghanaians must vote against the NPP in the 2024 General Elections and elect him as President to improve their wellbring by embarking on what he calls ‘Building the Ghana We Want’.
