Founding President of the IMANI Africa policy think tank, Franklin Cudjoe has reacted to the promise made by Nana Kwame Bediako, 2024 independent presidential candidate, to dredge the sea to Kumasi.

The policy analyst deemed the promise a joke and noted that such comments are allowed in this electioneering campaign period.

“The disease of the establishment parties catching up with the Force man...lt is the season so small jokes are allowed...,” he wrote on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the New Force leader explained the promise as part of his ambition to open up Ghana’s Eastern and Western Corridors to facilitate trade.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Abusua FM, Nana Kwame Bediako cited Dubai, a typical desert which now has a sea.

“I have travelled far and wide. I have seen many countries do that. Even Dubai which was a typical desert now has the sea. That is the kind of vision I have for the Ashanti Region. When we dredge the sea to the region, ships can dock in Kumasi,” he explained.
