Ghanaians Are Suffocating Under This Repressive Government

It is unacceptable for a government that promised to move the economy from taxation to production, rather has the delight of imposing regressive taxes on already distressed Ghanaians, and justify it by saying government needs money. Meanwhile government ignores all wise counselling of reducing the size of government and their reckless dissipation of state resources on government ostentatious lifestyle.

It appears the IMF are culprits to the suffering of Ghanaians by encouraging the government to impose regressive taxes on already distressed people. This conduct of the IMF and the World Bank not reprimanding the government on their extravagant lifestyle.

It's appears the IMF takes delight to accommodate governments that usually mismanaged its economy and run to the fund for bailouts. This attitude of government makes life's very difficult for the citizens by adjusting to the draconian and regressive conditionalities which eventually pulls a lot more more citizens into poverty. The IMF and the World Bank were aware 850,000 Innocent Ghanaians pulled into poverty in 2022 and it's expected a lot more citizens are going to be dragged into the class of poverty ridden Ghanaians.

A government that pride itself of having the most astute economist would gleefully succumb to these regressive conditionalities of the IMF, knowing very well the regressive prescriptions when administered is an an act to commit suicide.

The ruling elites have taken the citizens for granted because they have allowed the political elites to enrich themselves at the expense of the distressed citizens. Repeatedly the ruling elites continue to mismanaged the economy and find solace by entering into unholy alliance with the bretton woods institutions for approval to impose more taxes and increases in utility tariffs.

Ghanaians can no longer bare this impunity from the ruling class, after willfully dissipate state resources on unproductive activities, and shamelessly called on the citizenry to pay for their reckless corrupt conducts.

That deceptive conduct of the government of demanding money from the citizens anytime conditionalities are imposed on government to generate more revenue, it is ordinary people that are target of government to force and drain them dry. It appears the ruling elites have distance themselves and are careless about the suffering of the citizens.

The most disturbing diatribe from some government officials is whenever government needs money, the citizens must contribute through imposition of regressive taxes, forgetting the policies of government had already impoverished the citizens.Therefore, where are they expecting the citizens to find money to contribute for government to fund its ostentatious activities.
