The Founder and General overseer of Triumphant Church International Commission Reverend Joseph Evans Amoako Otchere has been consecrated as Bishop by the Association of Bishops and Apostles of Ghana at a ceremony held at the auditorium of the Triumphant Church in Obuasi.

The ceremony was graced by Archibishop Emeritus Dan Yinka Sarfo former Anglican Bishop of Kumasi and Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana as well as other revered men of God. The consecration ceremony was conducted by His Lordship Bishop Dr. Maxwell Paul Appiah.

Delivering his message Archbishop Emeritus Yinka Sarfo said he was particularly excited that despite the challenges in the Kingdom, men and women continue to brave the storm and continue to do God's work and win souls for Christ.

Archbishop Emeritus Yinka Sarfo admonished the gathering that the ascension to the Bishopric is a high call to service with additional responsibilities.

He further appealed to Bishops and men of God to be humble and lead a Christlike life while encouraging young ones to enter into the pastoral world since more blessings await them.

In an interview with the media after the ceremony, now Bishop Joseph Evans Amoako Otchere said his upliftment in the work of God is a testament to long years of dedication, perseverance and commitment to the service of God.

He appealed to up and coming men of God to focus on winning souls for Christ and not follow money to influence them. "I wouldn't have been a man of God or a full gospel minister if it was all about money. I left my well paying job at Ashanti Goldfields Corporation to do God's work," he stated.

Message on the 2024 election
The renowned man of God charged politicians to put much effort into developing the country. He said the perception among people out there is, "Africa is a lost continent", bemoaning the fact that not much has been done to change the narrative.

He however implored leaders of the political parties to embrace God's word and find best ways to develop the country.

On election related violence, Bishop Amoako Otchere advised the youth to stay away from election-related violence and eschew all forms of malpractice during elections.

Profile
The 75-year-old Bishop Joseph Evans Amoako Otchere hails from Kwapia in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region. He holds a Diploma in Theology from All Nations for Christ Bible Institute. He has over 50 years of experience in the Ministry of which the last 45 years have been full time.

He resigned from Ashanti Goldfields Corporation now AngloGold Ashanti in 1979 to respond to the call of God. He became a new convert while he was a wind driver at the Obuasi Mine. He had to leave his lucrative job at AGC and forfeit promotion into senior staff position to become a man of God.

He founded the Triumphant Church International Commission, a vibrant charismatic ministry which was incorporated in 1996 and has several branches in two regions in Ghana.
