Jon Germain calls Kwaw Kesse a joker

When you pick up a copy of the latest edition of Sparkx magazine you may be stunned that Jon Germain refers to Kwaw Kesse as his least favourite rapper in spite hosting him on Allo Tigo a number of times and even having the artist do a promo video for his show; but you may not disagree with his reasons for saying so.

In the magazine's special segment, the no-nonsense and outspoken Jon was asked to mention his all time favourite interviews he had ever done as a broadcaster among many other things. When he was asked for his favourite hiplife artist, he said: “I would say Reggie Rockstone. I would have said Okomfo Kwadie but he is not doing music anymore. Reggie is the only rapper who can make music and anybody from any part of the world can relate to it”.

Then came the question on his least favourite hiplife act; he answered: “Kwaw Kese! You listen to his song and he is a comedian. An average rapper or lyrists should make you go like damn this guy can rap without a beat. But Kwaw's songs are moved by exciting beats and some funny jokes and if I'm from Nigeria and I don't know what 'Odeim' is and I say flow in English and you can't do it then you're not good. If you've got talent, you can rap in any language if you're asked to. If you ask Reggie to rap in Chinese he will do it and that's it.”

In a weird twist of fate, Sparkx magazine did an article on Kwaw Kesse in its previous edition, titled “Kwaw Kesse Heads to Court”. In that issue, Kwaw talked about how he wanted to be lawyer but currently he is heading to court for other reasons; an ex-lover is suing him for fraud.
