THE 2008 edition of the Miss Malaika TV reality show has been launched in Accra to begin the search for the most elegant woman to wear the crown.
The search which will last for 13 weeks would be shown on TV to enable viewers vote for their favourite contestants.
The launch attracted players in the beauty, tourism, music and film industries as well as members of the inky fraternity.
According to Charterhouse, the event organizers, Miss Malaika is the representation of a Ghanaian beauty who possesses a unique combination of traditional and contemporary values.
The deputy Minister of Tourism, Kofi Osei Ameyaw, who launched the event, urged the 16 contestants to remain confident at all times and portray Ghana in the best light whenever they had the opportunity.
