King David sheds Maddhaus; releases new album

'They signed me on with huge promises and could not deliver any of them so I left,' King David told the Solid Gold Countdown on Radio Gold 90.5 FM in Accra.

The highlife star revealed Maddhaus Inc. was supposed to give him money the moment he signed the necessary documents, but they told him the accountant was not around at that time. Unfortunately for him, it's been a back and forth game since then. After months of the 'go-come' business, according to King David, Madhaus became history for him.

The sensational traditional highlife artist is born to win on his new album. All the songs on the album are more matured and are full of life like the 'Tsiobenkemi' and 'Ayefenotse' albums.

'Recording with live band can be difficult, if you don't know what you are about but it's very interesting when you know what you want,' he said. King David has been recording songs most of the time and has more songs in his archives than his fans would imagine. Whenever he is ready or thinks the time is due to release his new album; he simply goes to his archives to select which songs to be used.

He calls this particular album 'born to win' because he believes he is born to win. After going through a lot of difficulties, King David has not given up in life and has held on this far. Many Producers have expressed their interest in the album but because of piracy, they all held back.

A traditional highlife musician, Amandzeba, called the programme to contribute and encouraged King David to continue with the hard work, he also encouraged other musicians to try not to rely on producers but do something on their own. Finally, King David advised both musicians and those who want to be like him to be themselves and creative.
