One of the country's interesting and knowledgeable talk show hosts, Oheneba Dadzie, the host of Political Alert on Takoradi-based Rok FM has called on radio presenters to use their programmes to educate the people against violence before and after this year's elections.
In a chat with Beatwaves, Oheneba advised all radio presenters to desist from using foul language and launching personal attacks on people during phone-in segments on their programmes. He as well advised callers to be decorous in their speeches.
According to him since the general election was around the corner radio presenters should take it upon themselves to educate the public to desist from acts that seek to undermine the peace in the country.
He said the time had come for all radio stations in the country to start campaigning against political violence, saying Ghanaians should not allow politics to divide them since “we are peace loving people”.
His programme, Political Alert is a political talk show which discusses issues concerning political parties and their internal politics as well as this year's general elections.
The programme, aired every Saturday from 8am to 10am, features top politicians and seasoned political analysts, who discuss issues in a frank and robust manner.
He told Beatwaves that he would not rest until he reaches the top, adding “the sky is my limit.
I will work extra hard to maintain the good image I have attained so far as a radio presenter. I see myself as a hard working presenter and always think of satisfying my listeners and admirers in whatever I do”.
Oheneba mentioned that there are a number of talk shows on the airwaves on Saturday mornings in Accra and that there is still room for efficient and excellent information output, which can only be given by a quality production team and an experienced and versatile host.
He told Beatwaves he intends to use his programme to educate listeners on the need to comport themselves during and after the December general elections.
He stated that he would strive to provide an authentic platform for the promotion of arts, culture and tourism in a multi-dimensional way tailored to suit the Ghanaian multi-cultural society.
