Jayee University Student Perpetual Wins Miss Pink

A level 400 BBA Journalism student of Jayee University College, JUC Accra campus has been crowned the ultimate winner of the maiden edition of Miss Pink Ghana in Accra.

After months of tough and strict display of fashion, culture, modelling and academia knowledge Miss Perpetual Konadu Webana , the Ashanti regional representative took home a brand new Pink Hyundai i10 car, GH6000, a trip to Europe, one year working contract with RAM media concepts and variety of souvenirs from other sponsors.

For grabbing the enviable gold plated crown, Perpetual will also be an Ambassador for Breast cancer in all the ten regions of the country. She will embark on a routine visitation to second cycle and tertiary institutions, markets places, churches, women groups all in the name of creating awareness on the symptoms, causes and prevention of breast cancer.

This will be done through seminars, outreach campaign and forums across the regions of Ghana. Miss Pink in collaboration with her partners will again organize free periodic breast screening exercise for women.

Addressing the media, Perpetual observed her unflinching commitment and readiness to combating the canker. She pointed out that breast cancer was preventable and that the need for more sensitization and education. She bemoaned the stigmatization some breast cancer victims endure by relatives, friends and sometimes partners. "I can't fail the masses, this is the maiden edition of Miss Pink Ghana, and as such much is expected of me, I will deliver to the best of my abilities, I will build a very a firm foundation as my legacy so as to empower my predecessors to do more", she noted.

She underscored that she will build a strong network with all the various SRC women commissioners in the schools to educate the young women on breast cancer.

Sophia who emerged as the 1st runner up took home cash prize, a year contract from RAM media concepts and souvenirs. Then came Fafa, the Volta regional representative as the 2nd runner, she also grabbed cash prizes and one year contract including varieties of souvenirs.

Various hiplife and hi life musicians took turns to thrill the audience. Sponsors include RAM media concepts, World health Organization, Breast Care International, Kenpong Travel and Tours, Ministry of Health and Woman rising.
