AUG 24, 2016 LISTEN

Ace highlife musician, Samuel Owusu says he hardly makes money from the music industry in recent times.

The Highlife musician speaking on Adom FM’s mid-morning show, ‘Work and Happiness’ hosted by Ohemaa Woyeje said the reason is that people hardly buy CDs these days.

“Lots of people rely on the monies from music but I hardly do because I have other jobs I do,” he said.

Samuel Owusu who released his maiden album in 1992 has 13 albums to his credit. His songs include: ‘Abusua kyiri ka’, ‘Kokosakyi’, ‘Mempe me ho asem.’

According to him, many people who listened to the lyrics of his songs think of him as a very old man who might be using walking sticks, but that is never the case.

“I started coming out with albums in 1992 when I was 25 years, someone saw me and claimed I thought I was an old man by now, but that is never the case, the truth is that I walk with and converse with Old men and women and that makes me talk like them…,” he said.

He further claimed that he is ready to perform on any platforms whenever he is invited.

Samuel Owusu is out with a new single, ‘Toffee’ which he is promoting.
