Theophizzy Returns With Another Diss Track: Facts About Ghana Music Industry
10.07.2016 LISTEN

Another diss song!!! This time from yours truly, one of Ghana's Hip-Hop/Rap beef pioneers. I've been missing from the scene since 2007 when i dropped the infamous Haatsville/skillionaires diss song titled, Fakonaires Gettin'Killed. I, Theophizzy I'm to explain briefly why i did that song in the first place. Well, Ball J was a friend of a friend and he came to Preset Pacesetters School where I was a student at the time and battled my homie, who I was in a rap crew with and later he realize one of his verses was borrowed. LMAO!!! Later I met JaySo at Hush Hush studios and I was feeling his crew at the time for their exigent will to prove to Ghana and beyond that we could produced great rappers who could match up to our brothers and sisters in the U.S. I took his contact and was suppose to link up with him at his studio but he was buzzing at the time and was too busy to meet up with. I stopped calling him after a while. Then it dawned on me, why should I try to join skillions or try to do a song with them? These rappers are all wannabes. JaySo sounded like Jay-Z and that's where he stole the name from. Another member of the skillions is Ball J who also sounds like Jay-Z and as you have noticed he also has J in his name a few other members had J in their names too. They were a group of insecure rappers copying Jigga cos they lacked creativity and self esteem. Unable to develop their own style of flow and image as a whole.

Back in 2007, they were the talk of the town. Dr. Carl a Host at Radio Universe, University of Ghana's Campus Fm station, had a show on back then that promoted Ghanaian Hip-Hop. Dr. Carl became close friends with JaySo and when I decided to drop my diss song he was skeptical at first. I understood he was afraid of the commotion the song would cause. So the first week, he refused to play it and I sent him a text, told him not to be partial. The following week he played it and it caused chaos on the airwaves. Skillions had a lot of fans phoning in, backing them which I didn't find shocking. As if that will stop me from speaking the truth. Real recognize real and fake recognize fake too!!! Was I the only one who felt that way? No, I knew a lot of rappers who felt the same way I felt but they just ignored it but I could not stand by and let wannabes be classified as Ghana's best.

This time I am dropping the track in 5 parts dealing the trending issues surrounding the Ghanaian music industry as a whole. It starts off with a short song and the rest is a little bit of a freestyle flow and talking all the way through the track.
