Law Express Tv Panel Discusses Juvenile Justice This Weekend

What would you do if a juvenile steals from you? Will you Beat him or her up, let him or her go, or report to the police? This Sunday on Law Express, moderator Nuhela Seidu together with her guests will be discussing the Juvenile Justice on Metro TV from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Joining the discussion will be Philip Edem Kutsienyo, a private legal practitioner. He specializes in Civil Ligation in Corporate and Commercial Law Practice, Banking Law, Real Property law and family law in the Superior Courts of Ghana. Edem has an LL.B from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Qualifying Certificate of Law from the Ghana School of Law.

Edem is an ardent believer in giving back to society and thus volunteers for the Juvenile Justice Project (JJP) where he provides legal services for juveniles who have offended the law on a pro-bono basis. Whiles at the Ghana School of Law, he founded the charity wing of the SRC which pays for surgical procedures for poor and indigent children at the Paediatric Surgery Department of the Korle – Bu Teaching Hospital.

The second guest will be Martin Kpebu, who holds an LL.M in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Ghana, a Qualifying Certificate in Law (QCL) from the Ghana School of Law and Bachelor of Law from the University of Ghana. Martin has a solid experience in both civil and criminal litigation at the various levels of courts in Ghana. In 2008, Martin founded the Juvenile Justice Project, an NGO which provides pro bono-legal services to children in conflict with the law. Within that context, Martin and his colleague lawyers have represented over 500 juveniles over the past 7 years. He has been lecturing at the Faculty of Law, Central University College since its inception in May 2014 where he teaches Law of Torts and Criminal Law. Martin previously taught a number of Law-related courses at the Accra Polytechnic from 2008 to 2015. His areas of teaching and research interests are Human Rights, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Corporate Law, Oil and Gas Law, and Law of Torts.
