This year's MUSIGA Grand Ball is expected to raise an amount of GH¢200,000.

 According to the President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei-Kuffour, the projection is based on sponsorship revenues, gate proceeds and table sales to corporate bodies.

Last year, over 70 companies supported the event which succeeded in raising GH¢100,000 for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and the MUSIGA Academy.

This year's event which is under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency President John Mahama takes place today at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra is in aid of the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and the MUSIGA Academy.

As part of the event, there will be an auctioning of souvenirs from leading musicians as well as special collections of music by some of the leading artistes in the country.

The MUSIGA Grand Ball is an annual fund raising event organised by MUSIGA to support either charity works or selected projects. In that regard, this year's event is to raise funds for AMWeF.

There will be performances for the night by leading artistes like Gasmilla, Bisa K Dei, Becca and Bessa Simons. Gospel divas like Gifty Osei, Celestine Donkor and Philipa Baafi as well as veteran performers such as Paapa Yankson, Bob Pinodo and Obuoba J.A Adofo will all thrill the audience with their hits.
