Promising artist Robert Djan fondly known as Ked 2Besi has shared his opinion on the debate going round about the life span of Highlife music - by clearing the air that Highlife music is never going to die, but just needs more spice to suit the new taste of Ghanaians music fans.

In an interaction with the musician who is based in the United Kingdom, he revealed that one of the main reasons why he’s doing Highlife music is that, he grew up listening to High-Life music.

“Highlife music is our real traditional style of making music. It’s part of Ghana’s culture. Its part of our way of life and most musicians grew up with it. I don’t believe it will fade or die because the new generations are not showing much interest in it” he said.

With over 15 years experience in the music business, he believes marketing Highlife music to the international world is easier and can easily be accepted than marketing Hiplife or Ghanaian hip-hop music. Currently, Ked 2besi is putting finishing touches to his Highlife album - which has a bit of Afro-Pop songs on it.

Speaking about the album and why he's not coming home to do the recordings, he said it’s because he's based in the UK and can get equal quality sounds like the one he will get in Ghana - considering flight and other expenses which comes with coming back to Ghana, he felt the need to stay in the UK and record.

As to how many tracks are on the album, he stated that the album titled “The Ice Breaker album (TIB)” has 10 tracks on it. For now, I have released one single out of the 5 completed tracks and as part of our promotional plans, we will release a few more singles before the main album is released” he added.

He urged his fans to expect him explore in the coming months as he intends to release loads of good music for his fans and the Ghanaian communities.
