The third edition of the Ghana Music Week Festival (GMWF) being organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is scheduled to take place in Accra from March 2 to 8, 2015.

The event is expected to attract Ghanaian musicians and lovers of the industry to exhibit and patronise beautifully made Ghanaian music. It would also be an avenue where musicians could launch their new material.

The objectives of the Ghana Music Week Festival, according to the organisers, is to promote and underscore the importance and value of all Ghanaian music forms and to foster and promote a lifelong interest in music as a basic human experience and a right within cultural expressions.

The Ghana Music Week Festival would evaluate and reflect on musical achievements and creativity in a constructive and educationally focused way as well as recognise and reward stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of the industry.

Key activities for this year's celebration include a day's workshop at Alisa Hotel on Thursday, March 5, 2015, awards night dubbed 'Club Beer Ghana Music Honours'  in which 17 individuals and organisations would be honoured at the National Theatre on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 8:00pm.  A musical concert dubbed ' MTN GH All-Star Live'  would be held on Saturday, March 7 at the Accra Sports Stadium at 7:00pm.

The concert would feature stars like Amakye Dede, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Samini, Nigeria's Pato Ranking, Guru, MzVee, Jupitar, Episode, Obaapa Christie, Noble Nketsiah, among others.

The music week festival is sponsored by   MTN with support from Club Beer, GCB Bank, Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, Vita Milk, Sensodyne Toothpaste, Alisa Hotel, Viasat One TV, TV3 and other media partners.
