The NATIONAL KAKAMOTOBI (masqueraders) STREET FESTIVAL 2015, dubbed (MOTOBI-STREET FESTIVAL). is a two-day (2) outdoor festival and fanfare with a street procession of organised Kakamotobi through the principal street of Accra.

The event will take place from 5th - 6th (Saturday/Sunday) December 2015, 8am to 5pm. The event is being organized by GHANA DOMESTIC TOURISM COMPANY in association with Event Management Association of Ghana (www.eventsghana.org) and the GHANA KAKAMOTOBI ASSOCIATION (GAK), with the support of Ministry Tourism and Culture.

The Kakamotobi 2015 is fun, a day-out for children and families. The event commence with a street procession of organized groups Kakamotobi selected (drawn from the Ghana Association of Kakamotobi) through the principal street of Accra.

The procession ends at the Afua Sutherland children's Park, Accra where there will be Kakamoto dance competition for the best MOTOBI OF THE YEAR. There will also be fanfare for both children and adults. The event will bring together over a hundred (100) hundred Kakamotobi from around the country to participants in a day of fun, music, dance, fancy dressing. Its an event that you will definitely not want to miss! The objectives of the National Kakamotobi Motobi Festival are:

• Promote the medium of Kakamotobi for education, national unity and entertainment

• Promote Kakamotobi as an art form locally and internationally.

• Promote Ghana by participating in international street festivals

• Create outdoor fun and leisure for children and adults

• Revive and sustain KakaMotobi art form as uniquely Ghanaian

• Contribute to domestic tourism in Ghana
• Revitalize Ghanaian arts form and creativity
• Research into Ghanaian Arts
MOTOBI STREET FESTIVAL is fun for all !! Join us!! Organizers of the event GHANA DOMESTIC TOURISM COMPANY is a vibrant, tourism, management, media, management and creative enterpriser services from concept to production. The event is also being partnered by GHANA KAKAMOTOBI (masqueraders) ASSOCIATION (GAK), a non-profit making organization registered under Ghana Company Law. The focus of the Association is to promote and develop the development of Kaka Motobi as unique culture for both leisure activity and to enhance domestic tourism.

The Founder & Chief Executive of GHANA KAKAMOTOBI ASSOCIATION, Barima Adu-Asamoa intimated “I think we as a nation are endowed with some unique cultural art forms and practices that need to be research with the view of redefining and adding value to it. Motobi Fest 2015 is one such example, it's unique and those of us in the Creative arts and private sector needs the support of relevant institutions to make this potential a reality. It not only put Ghana on the cultural map of the world it also create jobs for the youth.”
