Miss Universe Ghana 2014, Abena Akuaba Appiah, will leave the shores of Ghana this Friday to the United States of America to begin preparation towards the upcoming Miss Universe finale at Miami, Florida, on January 25, 2015.
Abena Appiah, 22, is a professional model and an afro-pop musician with five singles.
An emotional Abena, who was crowned by former First Lady of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, as Miss Universe Ghana 2014 in August 29, has revealed that ever since becoming Miss Universe Ghana 2014, she has had the opportunity to visit to a number of countries, including USA, where she delivered a speech on Ebola at the Columbia University.
She told BEATWAVES that after the Miss Universe finale, she would return home to organise dinner to raise funds to support the campaign against the Ebola.
Abena was born in June 2, 1993 in Ghana, had her primary and part of high school education in the United States of America. She is currently schooling at Radford University College, reading Fashion and Design.
Last year, Abena won top model Ghana, and represented Ghana in the international top model pageant of the world, held in Egypt.
