Nigerian sensational music duo, P-Square – made up of Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye - have lost their father. He passed away on Monday, November 24.

The Okoye brothers have lost their dad two years after they lost their mother, Josephine Okoyo. Mrs Okoye, 62, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 after a heart surgery at the Apollo Hospital, India.

The late Mr. Okoye, according to reports recently had a successful knee surgery and was expected to undergo physiotherapy.

The music duo, known for several hit songs including 'Personally', is yet to comment on the death of their father.

Shortly after their mother's death in 2012, the duo was accused of being responsible for her death with many alleging that they killed her for fame and wealth.

Speaking in an interview with Vanguard Nigeria, the Okoye brothers refuted the claims stating the accusations were preposterous.

“Then, it is too bad to hear that people are accusing us of being responsible for our mum's death. We are not blaming anybody. People are free to say what they want to say. We begin to wonder whether there is anything that will ever make us to go for the life of our beloved mother,” P-Square said.

The duo added that: “Her life cannot be quantified in terms of money or fame. So, our answer to this question is that we have no hand in our mum's death. We only blame the death that snatched her away from us if not so, people won't be pointing accusing fingers at us. She died after a brief illness.”
